📚It's book club time!

Join us on the 4th of November at Kabra for another 6 ISLANDS READS. This time, under the guidance of interdisciplinary scholar Glenpherd Martinus, we will be discussing 'The Deep' by Rivers Solomon. The Deep is a short novella - the audio book takes about four hours - touching on themes of mythology, memory, history, violence, and identity.

This will be the first of a short series of 6 ISLANDS READS sessions, during which we will continue our collective exploration of what mythology can teach us about our past, present, and future.

Glenpherd is an interdisciplinary humanities scholar in training, currently deepening their knowledge of DE&I from a decolonial perspective. By connecting personal (hi)stories, articulating values, and honouring diverse forms of knowing, they strive to co-develop transformative paradigms that facilitate a pathway towards sustainable, equitable & meaningful livelihoods for communities relegated to the margins.
