Join 6 ISLANDS zine and Caribbean writer Nicole Römer for a Community Writing Workshop at WORM!

The upcoming 3rd edition of 6 ISLANDS zine is on the topic of 'Exploring Decolonial Practices in Caribbean Communities.' In keeping with this theme, our November 27th writing workshop will explore community writing as decolonial practice. Together with our host, Nicole Römer, we will explore what community means to us, what forms decolonial practice can take, and how writing can be a valuable tool in the process.

6 ISLANDS workshops are organized by people from the ABCSSS islands, for people from the ABCSSS islands.
So, are you from one of the 6 islands? Are you curious about how groups of people writing together can change the course of history? Would you like to explore how community writing has influenced the decolonialization of the ABCSSS islands? And are you interested in documenting this thought process in an individual or collective piece? Then join us on November 27th!

Nicole Römer (she/her) is a freelance writer, public speaker and D&I consultant. She is a coordinator at Neighborhood Feminists, an intersectional feminist organization based in Amsterdam and secreatry of Black Pride NL. She is currently working on her first book, a memoir which explores her identity as a queer woman of color from the ABC islands.

The writing workshop will be on Saturday, November 27th 14.00 - 18.00 at WORM in Rotterdam (Boomgaardsstraat 71).
Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Required: A EU QR code (digital or printed) showing proof of full vaccination, recovery from the Coronavirus, or a negative test. AND a physical copy of your ID.
