Come explore mythological imaginations through creative writing with us!

Taking a playful and creative approach, Juneal Holder will guide us into the realms of our most mythological imaginations. In this creative writing workshop, language will be our tool as we explore the many ways in which myths give meaning to our lives as Caribbean people. For example, as folktales passed down orally (e.g., nanzi, spirito di Franse Pas, and èzè); or as spiritual and cosmological interpretations of communal myths (e.g., bulabanda and brua); as well as political and social myths (e.g., race and the Kingdom of the Netherlands). Aren’t you curious about what we can write together by tapping into these mythologies?

So, whether you have a passion for writing or are looking for a chance to write your first poem or story, join us for an intimate session where we will dream, imagine, and write together.

After the Poetry Workshop, there will be an opportunity to share your poetry with the larger 6 ISLANDS community at the Mythological Imaginations Open Mic Night. Don’t forget to sign up separately if you are joining both sessions.
